HUME LAKE
INFORMATION
Woohoo! You’ve got a spot at Hume Lake!
This page will be your hub for all things Hume Lake. We will release all information on this page as we receive it. We cannot wait to experience Hume Lake with you!
DROP OFF & CHECK-IN //
Arrival time is 8:00am on Kring Field at Venture Christian Church (drive all the way to the back parking lot - it is where our soccer field is).
Drop off your luggage in the correct loading area // MS Luggage & HS Luggage will have different piles. Hold on to anything you want for the drive.
If you have medications, pull those out of your bag. All medications must be checked in during registration. For safety reasons, students are not allowed to have any medication (even over the counter medication) in their bags.
Check-in will be on Kring Field and will include a health screening check.
After everybody is checked in, students will load their own luggage onto the bus they are riding on.
We are shooting to depart around 9:00am, so please don’t be late to check-in.
CAMP FUN //
Two things that make camp especially fun is swimming and special activities. Here’s what you need to know about those:
Swim Test Attestation - this year, Hume is allowing parents to “sign off” on their kid’s swimming abilities. This allows them to skip the long line for the swim test with Hume Lifeguards. We will post this link when it becomes available to us.
**Warning - If you are uncertain about your child’s swimming ability, we recommend you have them do the swim test at Hume. And if your child is not a strong swimmer, it may be good to remind them to only swim in the pools or areas of the lake where lifeguards are present.Paintball & High Ropes Course - During free time, students have the opportunity to participate in four different paid special activities.
Paintball
High Ropes Course
Super Swing
Archery Tag
This year, Hume allowed churches to pre-purchase spots for activities. We looked at how many activity sign ups we had last year and bought spots for Paintball and High Ropes. We will post this link when it becomes available to us. If you do not pre-register for activities, they can still be purchased Sunday night at camp as long as spots are still available

QUALIFICATIONS FOR BEING SENT HOME
Camp is normally a bunch of fun. But if things get out of control, there are situations when students will be sent home.
Bad Behavior // Showing disrespect to their counselor, fighting, pranking, bullying, bothering or scaring students while they are sleeping, any illegal activity, and being found inappropriately with other students. Students cannot use their phone to take an unsolicited photo/video of another student or leader. Students need to follow the rules and regulations stated by Hume Lake and Venture Christian Church.
Sickness // Please have yourself, a relative, or someone available to pick up your student in case they get sick, injured. For more information, here’s our sick camper policy:
SICK CAMPER POLICY
Campers who feel ill while at camp, and are brought to the health center by their youth leader, will be evaluated for a fever and other contagious symptoms. If a camper is found to have a fever in excess of 100.4 and have potentially contagious symptoms, they will be isolated at the health center until the fever is gone for 24 hours without any anti-fever medication in their system, and their symptoms are improved. If symptoms persist or temperature goes above 102, then arrangements will need to be made to have the camper picked up from camp by a parent or guardian in the shortest time frame possible. If the 24 hour isolation period would exceed the time remaining in camp, a parent or guardian will be responsible for the pick up of the camper in the shortest time frame possible.
